Don’t worry about keeping up on all the new things going on in the beauty industry. I’ve got a quick little roundup right here of makeup reviews 2014 of my favorite new products worth the pretty penny. I picked out a wearable gloss that packs a punch, a multifunctional lip & cheek cream, and then a new lipstick collection with colors worth investing in. See below!
Dior’s ADDICT FLUID STICK ($35):
The packaging of Dior’s new Addict Fluid Stick is as luxurious as you’d expect from the prestige brand, with a cheeky Addict twist. The tube has the mechanism of a gloss complete with specially designed hi-definition applicator, but has a trompe-l’œil effect that makes it appear as though it’s a lipstick bullet that is contained within. With 17 new shades, there’s a color for everyone and every kind of occasion. Even the paler shades offer a bold pop of color with great coverage, though they can be sheered out for a balmier hue. If you don’t expect a matte lipstick-like coverage you will not be disappointed. It is a very pigmented, long lasting, glossy type finish. Mirage is my favorite for the summer as it is MLBB (my lips but better).
Josie Maran’s ARGAN INFINITY LIP & CHEEK CREAMY OIL ($18):
If you need something that makes your summertime makeup routine as simplistic as possible – this is it. Lip balm. Cheek blush. I’d even use it as eyeshadow in a pinch. It’s super soft, creamy, and overall really high quality. The price is a little steep if you don’t plan on using it – but if you’re looking for the perfect multifunctional product, this is it. The color is very intense, so a little goes a long way, but even with the bright color and intense pigmentation, its easy to blend. It looks and feels a little oily due to the Argan, but it’s very lightweight and leaves a glowy, not greasy, finish. No flaky lips, no chapping, no nada. Just make sure to wash your face at the end of the day and this product will be your best friend 🙂
The Proenzer Schouler x MAC COLLECTION – LIPSTICK ($22):
In stores as of April 24th, readers can celebrate the designers’ bold colors in the form of a MAC makeup collaboration. I personally love the lipstick, which comes in 4 bold hues reminiscent of what Proenze Schouler puts out on the runways: Mangrove is described as a “bright clean orange-red [with a Matte finish].” It’s a brightened, medium coral-red with warm, orange undertones and a mostly matte finish. Pinkfringe is described as a “vivid flamingo pink [with a Satin finish].” It’s a brightened, light-medium pink with subtle neutral-to-warm undertones and a soft, frosted finish. Primrose is described as a “sheer berry plum [with a Lustre finish].” It’s a medium-dark, cool-toned berry plum with a glossy shine. Woodrose is described as a “light pink with beige [with a Lustre finish].” It’s a light beige with a rosy tint and a soft shine.
