5 biggest skin sabotages that keep you from having beautiful skin
We take pride in our skin- it’s what we have to make glow! Besides sun and smoking, there are many other factors that prevent us from having clear, beautiful skin. You may be surprised how easy it can be to get better skin: Turn the heat off, take a nap and eat some carrots!
1) High thermostat
Heat and AC are two of the most common causes of dry, dull skin. A humidifier is a quick, simple solution to help you achieve a hydrated more beautiful complexion.
2) Lack of sleep
Duh! Skin can make a rebound for the occasional late night, but if you get an average of less than six hours of sleep, it’ll definitely catch up to you preventing you from having that youthful restful glow we all cherish.
3) Too much caffeine
I LOVE coffee! Caffeine, however, is similar to high heat: it’s dehydrating. Balance out each cup of joe with a large glass of water, to slow the dehydrating process down and get back your beautiful skin.
4) Eating like a 9 year old [too much sugar]
Sugary foods break down collagen and elastin in the skin, causing dullness and wrinkles earlier than we’d like. Alcohol is also a huge role-player in the realm of sugary and dehydrating things we put into our bodies, too. So, don’t drink like a frat boy pledging rush either… in fact, skip drinking altogether, like Kim Kardashian [above] (who rarely touches the stuff), for the most beautiful skin we have seen on any celebrity.
5) Stress
When you’re stressed out, your cortisol levels go up. Higher cortisol = more inflammation in the skin.
